Museum of Magic, Fortune-telling & Witchcraft

Nestled within the enchanting Chalmers Close just off Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile, our museum offers a magical experience like no other. Founded in February 2023 by Ash William Mills, it resides in a charming wee building which once was a 17th century bishop’s cottage. Parts of the originally foundations can be still seen today! With a touch of whimsy, we at the museum always say the Close itself is magical, cloaked in invisibility—blink, and you might miss it! But for those determined to find us, the Museum will reveal itself for those seeking genuine magic. Our exhibits aim to raise awareness of the European witch hunts, highlight Scotland’s unique folklore, and highlight the importance of magical heritage witnessed in many cultures. We proudly showcase a growing collection of magical items, many gifted by those seeking to pass on their mystical heirlooms and legacy.
